Frequently asked questions
How does the civic exam work?
The exam has 40 questions: 28 knowledge questions and 12 situational scenarios, in at most 45 minutes. You need 32 correct answers to pass (order of 10 October 2025). It is taken on a computer with an accredited operator.
What happens if I fail?
You can retake the exam without limit, but each sitting costs about 70 to 90 euros and a new appointment can take several weeks, or even months depending on the region. A fail therefore delays the application that depends on it. With Passexamen your access is lifetime: you pick your training back up and retake the exam without paying again.
Which track should I choose: CR, CSP or NAT?
The track matches your application: CSP for a first multi-year residence permit, CR for the resident card, NAT for naturalisation. If in doubt, the Complet pass covers all three.
